In that case why is it giving me error message that can't play unless I do some kind of an update.
Is this same update I can do via live or their web site by inserting cd, etc......
Is this for all regular xbox games being played on 360 (hacked or not) or only some games?

Can you also give me some feedback on following:

It's been a while since I used craxtion to make back-up of xbox games. As stated in tutorial we neede to use craxtion at a point, need to know exactly which of the 9 options that come up we need to use. It starts with "Create new ISO" & ends with "Save game manager".
Thank you,

I belive I did everything correctly trying to make back-up copy of xbox game so it can be played on 360, however when I put disc in the 360 drive it says "Mixed Media disc" & will not play.

What firmware are your using?

Lets sum it all up. To play original Xbox 1 games on your modded 360 you'll first need to download and install the backward compatability software on to your 360 hard drive from Xbox.com. Even after doing this there still are separate updates for some Xbox 1 games. So to update, connect to Live and insert the game, then accept the update.

And there may be multiple updates for some of the games. I believe it was either "MX vs. ATV Unleashed" or "Splatt Paintball" which asked me to update, so I did, then got asked to update again, which I did, before it played.

And then there was Halo 2. My friend brought over an original game disc for me to refinish (remove scratches). I fired it up afterwards and was told to update. So I did. The 360 rebooted and I was told to update again. So I did. The 360 rebooted and I was told to update... this kept going on and on. I applied the update 6 times before I gave up on it. I'm sure this was a rare case as I know many others are using their 360's to play Halo 2 online.

Thanks for very informative input. Last night I did update it with
backward compatability & did this by downloading update into my pc from xbox site, copy same onto CD then load it to 360.
I was under the impression that by doing this I'll be able to play all xbox games originals or back-up but this doesn't seem to be the case, correct?
To get update for a paricular game must I be connected to live or it can be done the same way I did for backward compability (find update off of their webside, copy it onto cd then load it to 360.

You were asking what firmware I am using? I guess you mean which hacked version which allows me to play back-up?

You'll only be able to play the Xbox 1 games which are on the list: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/backward...tygameslist.htm .

Tks, this part I understand what I don't get is do I need different update for each game listed? Where do I get these updates?
All I did was load backward compatability, isn't this all we need?
Sorry for asking so much & tks once again for your feedback.

You'll only need the separate update if you're on Live and it tells you to update. Not every game has separate updates. And you can only get the separate update through Live.

Thank you,
You asked this before and I forgot to answer in my last post... sorry about that. You want the "Create New ISO".

I asked what firmware you were using because this will only work if you're using Samsung Xtreme v.5 through v.5.3. Anything for the Samsung before Xtreme v.5 and after v.5.3 doesn't support single layer games.

Has anyone been able to copy SSX Tricky from Xbox 1? It is not on the list of Xbox 1 games that will work on the 360 so will a copy work? I don't want to make coasters.... Thanks!

This guide is pretty old and won't work unless your 360 has a Samsung drive and it's flashed with old Xtreme firmware.

With the new firmware Xbox games still have to be ripped just like the Xbox 360 games.

If an original game is not on the back compat list, a copy won't work either.

perhaps it would be easier to spend the 40 bucks for an original xbox. that would solve everyones problems.

Come talk with us on efnet at #elitemods !!! or just click ME

ALSO, DO NOT SEND ME MESSAGES ON LIVE REGARDING MODDING CONSOLES, OR HOW I PLAYED A CERTAIN GAME EARLY. I WILL NOT RESPOND. I WILL INSTEAD DELETE YOUR MESSAGE, AND BLOCK ALL COMMUNICATION FROM YOU. JUST SEND ME A PM ON HERE.

Why? It's outdated.

Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.
