Another Xbox Mod Question

I'm a noob who recently modded a version 1.4 Xbox using one of the many fine step-by-step instruction sets out there. For my FTP client I'm using FlasFXP. When I'm logged into the Xbox via my network the FlashFXP console window does not show me any of the contents in the Xbox hard drive partitions. I can copy stuff into the partitions But I can't view the contents. This problem exists with both the old and new hard drive, with the drives locked or unlocked. How do I get FlashFXP to show me the contents in the Xbox hard drive partitions?
