NME modchip not working?? Was my backup procedure right?

When I insert a backup into the XBox360 it says "Please insert this game into an XBox360!!!

what i did is that i have a friend with xbox 360 he used a samsung with kreon firmware and made a backup with a ss.bin merged, he got it to work on his drive flashed with xtreme 55! so i took that backup and ran it through the nme software to make the iso compatible (nme 360 assosiater). i installed the nme chip myself so am wondering if the backup is messed or my modchip on my 360?

p.s this new converted nme backup still works on my xtreme as well. whats the problem??
