E66 Update Error

Hi, I have a pre modded 360 and after updating on xbox live I have a E66 error.
I know how to fix this! I have burned an enable DL DVD so my 360 can be reconized for flashing. I am using a floppy to read and that goes fine!

My question is, as I am using floppy because my bios does not let me boot from usb, if the floppy fails as it is writing will this brick my drive.
e.g. If it fails at say 50% and stops writing, can I reebot PC and 360 and try again, or do I only get one shot at it???

PS. I have tried the CD method but it fails to read!
