Failing to flash with VT6421L and MS28

when i turn on the 360 in dos(the USB xtremebootmaker one)...wait 10secs and press enter (A:\>mtkflash r orig.bin) i get 2 options....IDE Sec master and IDE Sec Slave...i pick option 1 and get "Port 170, Master/Slave a0"
pressing crtl+c i type in the command again with no success

ok too things you need to understand first several new xbox 360 drives don't allow the flash firmware hack
there however are updated firmwares from diffrent groups that get around this issue so you might want to try another firmware first

isnt MS28 flashable with xtreme 5.2 using this via vt6421L???

yes but there are updated firmware versions depending on changes with the xbox live service try looking for other firmwares first and try those firmwares it might be your firmware is invalid and you may need to find another source

we need more information...have you flashed the drive before? which firmware are you trying to flash? have you edited mtkflash to work with your SATA?

Stock xbox 360 ms28
Havent flashed b4...want to flash with 5.2C xtreme firmware
I downloaded a MTKFLASHvia.zip inside the zip contains MTKFLASH.EXE & MTKFLASH.TYP
Using xtremebootmaker 0.3.6.14220
Using VIA VT6421L, drivers updated to version 5.2

i hex edited my mtkflash replaced the one on the usb bootable...
restarted comp, went into dos
mtkflash r orig.bin
1: XTREME Pri Master
2: VIA8237 Pri Master
WTH, its a VIA VT6421L not a 8237...

i cant get either option 1 or 2 to work,
i get the error

Download the VIA drivers 5.30 (I believe) from Viaarena.com
Depending on whether or not you guys have m28 or m25 drives, if you want the drive seen in dos then
Use xtreme boot maker to set up floppy with hexedited mtkflash
Hook SATA from 360 drive to SATA Card
Turn on 360
Turn on PC and boot to DOS with bootdisk
At dos type mtkflash r /m /sata orig.bin
It will then have an option for xtreme primary
If using M28 turn off 360 then select xtreme primary, if m25 then keep 360 on and select.
Wait 10-15 seconds on m28 drive then turn it back on. It should start reading
If m25, it should start reading immediately

thank you all!
i have flashed my xbox 360 and backed up my project gotham racing 3...hehe now i can place my xbox 360 in upright position without fearing scratches!
i used Verbatim R + DL and a 111D with stock firmware
