Hi Guys, newbie here.

I got a hold of a Starview box on Friday, the day things started to go wrong. I setup the box as per instructions and managed to get 303 TV Channels. The only channels that were working however were Freebies.

With the help of this site I flashed the box , rescanned, but this time "only" got 240 TV Channels.

I get S*y Sports, Setanta, S*y Movies etc but there are a lot of channels that I go into that say "Scrambled". Should this be the case??

Another thing, On Demand, I've read about this on the N*L website, should I be picking up these channels??

Cheers

Which ones are still scrambled? If you have some you should get them all. You cannot get VOD channels as they are not broadcast as such, they are requested from the N*L server and sent to your box. You have to subscribe to them.

Are you still having problems? Make sure you have the latest download, press MENU then 1570 to bring up the hidden CAS menu, make sure KEY EMU is on and that the nagra setting is ON. Go back to a scrambled channel and wait until it updates.

Fekker - I notice a similar problem. I get most of the channels after reflashing and I have the EMU on. However, Pr"m plus was on before and is now not. It just keeps updating but never loads.

Most of the time Prem Plus is a blank screen until they start advertising a game or until they have a game to show. Twest show a test card .

Hi Fekker.

Ii is channels without a name as such that are scrambled.
ie, "TV(followed by a number)".
I think these may be On Demand channels that the scan is picking up actually, such as the BBC On Demand, because one of them did actually work for a few minutes last night but it was an episode of Casualty from a few weeks ago.

You should ignore these channels, they are for people using video on demand. If they decide to pause or stop the programme when you are viewing it then the wife/girlfriend/boyfriend is going to be pissed off with you, isn't he/she!!!

Some are VOD channels, some are tests & interactive streams which are not active all the time.

No, these use the 12V output from the $KY box to control them.

I think the powermid type is probably what you need, or something similar, any that use radio control.

Yes, these ones work by having the sender unit upstairs on top of the TV or Starview, the receiver downstairs faces the tv/starview and sends any remote control presses from upstairs to your starview box.
