Okay guys. I have been using shrink for quite a while now and have recently decided to get only the movies for my backups. It is just easier for the family to be able to put it in and forget it. I have read the tutorial and it is actually quite simple so it seems but whever I make a backup it will not read in my dvd players. It attempts to read it then spits it out. Any suggestions?

Using Ripitforme -> Shrink-> Nero

Thanks for the link. However, this does not address my problem. I have not purchased saw 3 yet and I dont think that I am going to back that one up. I am having problems with pretty much any movie I attempt to backup regardless of its release date.

I have not been able to play them on any of my dvd players or my computer.

Apparently something is going wrong during your ripit4me process. I don't have ripit4me yet so I cannot comment on the process.

May I suggest to try this first.

Download DVD Fab Decrypter free here:
http://dvdidle.com/free.htm

1.Rip movie to a folder. Usually takes 15 to 18 minutes.
2.Open file with DVD Shrink. (Open file button)
3.Shrink will analyize. 2 minutes or so.
4.After complete, click the re-author button.
5.Now simply drag the main movie over to the left and drop.
6.Click the compression tab and edit any unwanted audio.
7.Click the backup button. This will give you the options for burning with Nero or DVD Decrypter.

I would go in more depths with DVD Shrink and burning but it sounds like you have done this before prior to your problems?

Try this and lets see what happens.

I write movie only DVDs and have for a long time. I use AnyDVD,
and Shrink to write an ISO file to the hard drive. Then I burn
with a free program called Imgburn. I always burn the movie at
4 times speed. Saw III and Open Season are a problem because of
their special encryption and structure. The discs play on all
my DVD players, and my computer. I have tried them on several
friends players and no problems.
You need to check and be sure you are using either a plus or
minus disc that works with your particular player. There should
be a list in the book that came with the player. Some players
use one, some use the other, and some are particular about the
brand of the disc or the speed of the disc. The other thing
that could be a problem-some people are having trouble with the
new Sony discs. They are causing all kinds of problems with
some writers and with some players. I just took a pack back to
the store (my writer has worked with every brand of disc including
Sony until their new 16 times came out). The other thing I've
found is there are some machines that will not read an RW disc.

thanks for the input. As you have described is how I have been doing it. Well, I figured it out finally. I cant believe how I missed this. What was happeing was in the backup windown the 'target' was hard disk file. OMFG. Can't believe that I didnt even look there. I guess that is what happens when you are in a hurry.
