I have my GTA:LCS coming in about a week so in the mean time, with the 2.81 PSP I have now, if I download a torrent of an official Sony ps1 games for psp will it work on my PSP if I upgraded to regular 3.03?

Nope sure wont. It would work however if u went and bought a ps3, bought the ps1 game, and then transferred it from ur ps3 to ur psp.
