Hey jasonyhap
Tks for the heads up on the copy protection on The Grudge 2.

Once AnyDVD updated to 6.1.1.3 they increased the # of bad sectors that it would report - guess they thought 40 was high enuf :)

Saw 3 showed 90 w/ the later versions and Open Season showed 72.
Looks like the Grudge is lagging there ;)

@jt71
For now with these newer Sony's AnyDVD & Shrink won't work.
Hopefully that will change.

@madney
What region for Flyboys? I only showed it had the old RCE & CSS protection for Region 1 - nothing new at all.

No biggie madney
Different regions can have different copy protection on the movie so was just curious if they put something else on this in an other region.

Like always, I'm confident that both RipIt4Me and DVDFab Decrypter will rip this (GRUDGE 2) easily.

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.

I used the ripit4me and shrink successfully but when I tried to burn using roxio it wont even let me select the source folder, it just closes. Nero also fails. I do not have AnyDVD or clone dvd. Can anybody help? Because it is very annoying being able to back up a copy but not burn it.

@daldan
Are you using the latest RipIt4Me - 1.6.7.0 & FixVTS - 1.603?

Have your tried autoburning w/ Shrink since you have Nero?

Might also want to rip the dvd w/ DVDFab Decrypter then open those files in Shrink and autoburn w/ Nero.

Could you walk me through it as I don't quite understand how to auto burn?

Ok - it's pretty easy - you're just changing the back up target in Shrink.
Once you click back up under 'select backup target' pick your burner from the dropdown.
Then click on the burn settings tab and change the burn speed - set it at 1/2 the rated speed of the burner. (see pics below)

This is the first time (Grudge2) since the inception of AnyDVD that Shrink has failed to work for me. I have no idea how to use DVDdecrypter (my only current option) in conjunction with Shrink. For over five years it's been just me and Shrink. I hope they get a fix for Grudge2

Full disc backup, minus the trailers and other crap I don't want, went rather easily via the method listed in my signature. It's the latest AnyDVD and VOBB version 2130 beta 4.

No problems at all.

Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie

There's a few out there that Shrink & AnyDVD won't work on - this is one along w/ Saw 3, Open Season, Running w/ Scissors & Grudge 2.
Decrypter won't handle this one either alone.

Here's a few options that will work for all of these that Shrink can't do even w/ AnyDVD.

Download the trial (free for 21 days) of CloneDVD - AnyDVD works best with it. Very easy to ease and will compress & burn.

Rip w/ DVD Fab Decrypter (free) then open those files in Shrink. link.

Use RipIt4Me (all free) - uses Decrypter, Shrink - gives them the help they need along w/ FixVTS.
Here's a link w/ a step by step guide from alkohol - link

Had no problem with Grudge 2 using ripit4me and DVD Decryptor. Did the movie only and plays fine. Took me only 30 minutes and have already watched it. AnyDVD and Shrink alone did not work. PacMan777 gave great advice for Saw 3 and knew it would work for the Grudge 2!! He is my hero!!

The latest version of RI4M locked up at around 10%. Used DVDFab Decrypter and it works fine.
