can you upgrade from 1.5 directly to 3.03c?
Can you also remove the 3.03 oe-c from the psp just in case.

u can install from 1.50. and once it is flashed to the psp you can format the memory stick to rid the rest of the files.

Hexit,
Thanks for your reply earlier :-)
I've managed to get back to 1.5 at last (more by luck than anything else) .I formatted the memory stick using the 1st PSP that your winstaller was sucessful on .Then I ran the "unbricker" I found over at h??p://www.klmsoftware.net/?p=53 (not sure wot the rulez are here on links ,apologies if not allowed ) .Rebooted the psp into recovery mode and selected the third option ,which ran a dark alex update .rebooted when it finished and thankfully psp booted up .when I checked the system sofware version it's now on 1.5 and not "a fresh 3.02 OE-A " as it says in the instructions ,but that's probably down to something I've done ,but at least it's not a brick any more :-). Still not sure what went wrong .it is a ta82 which was on 2.81. I brought it up to 3.03 .then down to 1.5 before I ran your winstaller. Not too sure where to go from here .I was going to try going up to 3.10 OE-A but I read somewhere that 3.10 doesn't work too well on the ta82 so I might just just try 3.03 OE-C ,these things are changeing so fast that's it's all a bit confusing :-(.

Glad to hear that. I like the manual approach too but I hate having all these files on my HDD so i turned them into winstallers. Thanx for the feedback tho :)

Thats very odd, are you running USB 1.1 or 2.0? Did you format your memory stick before using the winstaller?

reformat again with the PSP. run the winstaller and then see if the files are installed. It should be about 18mb between the two folders? How for along does it go this time? What brand is your memory stick. If it's sony did you get it from eBay. Fake memsticks have a tendency to do things like this.

that is very very weird. what i would do is create a folder named OE in the root of my C: and install the files there. Then copy them to the PSP. Sorry ur havin troubles.

Sorry Hexit, don't mean to drop into your reply but I had a similar problem as TatSteev. The problem is that there is no progress bar indicating what is going on. If you leave the installer alone and let it run, it should finish and say something like it finished. Just give it a couple of minutes and it should work.

Abbie thanx for pointing that out, no need to excuse yourself either. But he is correct...it will dissappear for a moment and reappear when its complete with the installation. I dont know why it does it but it's only when its extracting the large eboot's or data.dxar files. I'll try and see if i can't sort it out.

Yes this also works on a TA-082 but it HAS HAS to be downgraded to 1.50 prior.

Cool....it's been downgraded from 3.03 to 1.50 already....somehow that was the easy part! altho i did fill my trousers when my screen shutoff....thot it'd been bricked!(apparently this has caused others to cake thier pants also!!)
Just to confirm, copy PSP folder from OE on PC harddrive to PSP root, run 3.03 OE-C Firmware Install and all will be good....but should there be a corrupted data file shown below installer?
