Im not saying you don?t have a bug, that?s for the virus fighters. However taking hours to burn a DVD is a classic symptom that the drive jumped into PIO transfer mode. To check got to start/ settings/ control panel/system/hardware, device manager. There you will see the entry ide/ata/atapi controllers. Click on that. From there look at your primary and secondary ide channels. Look at the advanced settings. The transfer mode should be ultra dma mode 2 through 5. It can be any number in that range. If you see any PIO transfer mode we will have to walk you through changing it back. Takes a minute in person or a heck of a lot of typing. I hope that?s all you problem is. It happens all the time.
