I have read through all the stickies and all the FAQs and I just can't seem to fix this problem..

Some background - I am playing on a fat V3 playstaion using swap magic 3.6 with slide tool. I have just recently started playing this machine again, it had not been used in about a year or so (had to dust it off for guitar hero 2)

My store bought Guitar hero 2 plays perfect in all areas except on the song list screen, it sometimes rolls up.
This happens on my backup guitar hero 1 dvd also.
When I try to play my backup FF12 disc, it works great except when I go to explore outside a city. The screen rolls vertically almost non stop and is simply unplayable.

I have tried different media. All rated top tier. Interestingly, I could not get this game to work on my verbatims DVD-R but I did get it to work on my 8x Teon DVD+R.

Any suggestions to stop the vertical rolling on my PS2? Would trying to get an S-Video hook up make it easier? (I am using the cables that came with the system).

Is my PS2 simply dieing? (remember it scrolls vertically sometimes on store bought games).

Any help greatly appreciated.
