My 2nd PC
2.4ghz P4
1024mb DDR1 ram
Geforce 6800GT

And svchost is taking up 99% of my cpu and about 200,000k memory and my pc barely can open task manager!
What is it havent done anything lately or is the best thing to do just re install the OS whihc is XP but planning on putting Vista ultimate.

svchost is the service host for your computer. you must have a new service running that is taking up your cpu. go into service manager under control panel > admin tools, and see if there are any unnecesary services.
