Yesterday I finally installed RipIt4Me with the help of some good
people on this forum. Then I did Open Season. The program ran
RipIt4Me, then DVD Decrypter, & FixVTS. After that I opened the file
in Shrink and converted to an ISO. Then burned with Imgburn. The
resulting disc plays perfectly.
This program is as good as everybody said it was. It works on the
really tough ones. It takes longer than the process I usually use
of AnyDVD, Shrink, and Imgburn, but they won't do some of the tough
ones at all. I'll still use the short way for the easy ones, but
it's good to have this for the hard ones.

You're not supposed to be using DVD Decrypter. RI4M sets up the PSL files and activates DVD Decrypter on it's own. Set everything, which is normally set in default. Then use 1-Click. If it opens in Shrink, you've more than likely got good files. Don't be using wizard and trying to second guess the program. All you do is click 1-Click, when RI4M gets through reading the files (which can take a while with some titles) and the Next comes available to click, click it and let the program do its job. You shouldn't do anything till it opens the files in Shrink. With RI4M don't use ISO output for known difficult copy protections. If you need ISO, let Shrink convert.

RipIt4Me is doing more work. If you ripped to the HDD and then processed the files for compliance with the other software you're using, that would also take longer.

Sorry I didn't explain myself too well. RipIt4Me ran all those
stages up to Shrink. Then I converted the existing file to an ISO
using Shrink. I don't understand-is there a problem doing that?
The disc I got plays beautifully.

YOu did it right. I was commenting on poopsquaw's post. I edited for clarification. With AnyDVD you're following an easier and shorter process which you realize won't work with the heavier copy protection. I used to rip with AnyDVD and DVD Decrypter and processed with FixVTS. Since Slysoft has been slipping on support with AnyDVD, I've gone to RI4M. I need HDD files to use with DVD-RB Pro with CCE SP. AnyDVD has been having a problem getting cleaned files to the HDD lately.

Open Season is easily do-able in RI4M using the 1-Click mode. I noticed you said you had a problem with it earlier. Depending on the effort involved, all these programs can probably get the job done. People are saying so at least. I did it and it plays perfect. I used Full DVD and let it rip. I've heard the ISO option can cause problems and user input can add problems as well with the wizard, especially if the FixVTS step is skipped.
I agree with you the 1-click is the way!! However, I only select the Movie Only - which works too. It seems like a lot more work using Vob Blanker, etc...

With RipIt4Me you don't need to use VobBlanker unless you're editing things like the FBI warning. Ripit uses FixVTS to process the files for compliance in the 1-Click mode. For compliance processing FixVTS does the same thing as VobBlanker. You get good clean files whether you use Movie Only or Full DVD. That part doesn't matter. Plus with Quality Settings in use with Shrink, you can get a good backup to about 75%-80% compression (or beyond).

Well, I had no problems to rip Open Season with the latest DVDFab Platinum. Then used Shrink, again, with no problems. The real deal came when trying to burn with Nero, I got an error.

I already used Fixvts, but at the first try the movie didnt play acurate. What Im doing wrong?
