Can this be safely done? I have two drives and I know if it were possibe it would save me alot of time. Please let me know if this is possible, thanks.

Yes it is possible but it would be very slow. There's only so much info that can be transfered through your cables. In the time it took for you to get this reply, you could have ripped more than 2 discs.
