Can someone please look at this error I don't understand how to read them...I'm using Sony DVD-R disc and never had a problem with them. But I keep getting an error when its trying to write the lead in.

Power calibration error
The cause of this will be either poor media, poor power, or a defective recorder.




99% of all problems are between the computer and the chair.

I don't understand how the media could be bad..haven't had a problem with the disc in the bundle so far till now. what do you mean bad power? and also defective recorder does this mean my burner might getting bad?

Here is another Error I keep getting when I put the copy in my dvd drive and then a blank in the Dvd Burner

Lite-On- DVDRW SOHW-1673s
Power Calibration Error

thats the same error as the one you had before it looks like. and ya have you tried burning other stuff with your drive? data dvd/cd audio cd or something to see if your burner works on other stuff

thanks, yes I've backed up other movies today since them errors, without any problems...I'm just wondering if its it workout dvd (copied one) is the reason I'm having trouble..I've made many back ups of the same dvd many times..thanks for ur help
