Gameshark 2 v1.2 + Slim Ps2 = No Exploit?

I have a Gameshark 2 v1.2 and a Slim PS2. Does that mean that the Exploit is not going to? I followed this tutorial:

Gameshark Exploit Guide

But when I get to the part where I have to put in the trigger disc( in my case MegaMan X4), nothing happens. It just goes on to play the game. I'd really like some help with my problem. I've gone through so much trouble to get myself a USB drive that actually works. Now I don't want to fall flat on my face after all that struggle. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Can anyone please help me? I'm really frustrated. Whenever I do the "Your SystemConfiguration.ps2" thing, I transfer it, but nothing happends. The game starts up as usual. Can anyone look over the guide and tell me if there is something missing? Maybe a missing file? Anything!

No one has any information on this? These are the following things I have:

-Slim PS2
-USB Flash Drive
-Gameshark 2 v1.2

I also have the SaveBuilder, IDGet, etc. programs. I'm willing to download any other program if need be. Please help? Anyone? Let me get the steps straight...

1. Get the ID from my MegaMan X4 Disc. (005.61)
2. Make the title.db file.
3. Make the Root/ID, "BADATA-SYSTEM".
4. Add the BOOT.ELF file.
5. Add the title.db file.
6. Save it.
7. Rename it, "Your SystemConfiguration.ps2"
8. Put it in the Flash Drive.
9. Start the Gameshark.
10. Go to the "Manage Saves" area.
11. a) Delete my old SystemConfig. OR b) Overwrite it.
12. Reboot my PS2 with MegaMan X4 inside.

13. Exploit Screen should come up?

Please help. I know you'd be helping others out there.

It's been 4 days and I would appreciate an answer. I heard the exploit doesn't work on a Slim unless you have AR MAX EVO but I wanted to know if it would work with a Gameshark 2 v1.2. Please help.

Well, in the link you provided us it says you need a CHUBBY ps2 and you claim to have a SLIM ps2. That may be the problem...

I'm using that as a rough guide. Since that's the only one that I've seen that uses a Gameshark 2 v1.2 instead of an AR MAX [Evo]. If anyone can provide me with a tutorial that uses a Gameshark.

i dont think the independance exploit will work on a slim PS2.
