We have used DVD Shrink for a while and never had a problem until now. We can open up DVD Shrink, put the disc in, open disc. Once we have done that a pop up comes up and it says change dvd regions and the only button you can press is cancel. Then it brings you back to the DVD Shrink page. We have unistalled the program and installed it again but the same thing keeps comming up. Can someone please help us with this problem?

well from the title of your question, i can tell you this.DVDSHRINK is not a burning application , it is a reauthor which requires a burning engine like Nero to fulfill the burning section.Have you got Nero or imgburn on your pc?

Sounds like you have a disc from outside of your region that you are trying to open. What are you using to get past DRMs? AnyDVD will cause the disc to appear region free so you can open it. Not sure but ripit4me will probably rip it too. Then use shrink.

Garmoon is right. The decryption portion of DVDShrink is obsolete. It wasn't the best even when it was supported. The author said to use DVD Decrypter when Shrink failed to open a DVD. Since then DVD Decrypter has lost support, so other programs need to be used. RipIt4Me as suggested by Garmoon is a good freeware. DVDIdle has been lagging behind a bit, but DVDFab Decrypter is another good freebie. Of course on the retail side Slysoft has the AnyDVD. DVDIdle has retail offerings as well. Whatever you do though, you need to follow garmoon's suggestion and get some updated software to bypass the copy protection, which includes region codes.

Thanks for your time and help we can burn again. We are using dvdfab decrypter then DVD Shrink. Just one more question with dvd fab takes a long time to read the dvd, no matter what dvd we put in it takes about 2-4 hours and sometimes longer is this normal?

Are you burners in PIO mode? 2-4 hours is entirely too much time to just rip a dvd.
