I tied everything and nothing would work. finally it was simple really. I just opened dvdfab platinum and just ripped the movie not the full disc. after it finished i used dvdshrink and backed it up. thats it. later.

have you tried Ripit4me with FixVTS? That worked for Saw 3 when no other program would work without an update. AnyDVD sometimes doesn't work right with Shrink.

Often movie only works with a lot of software. The copy protection is in the extras.
