So lately all my burns have been choppy.
theres guitar hero, burned about 2-3 times usually using DVD Decryptor, been trying Alcohol 120%.
Well the game plays but it skips a lot.
same with NCAA 07 basketball and baseball.
and months ago all my burns were flawless, what could be contributing to this? every time I burn, I restart computer, and shut down all the programs running. what are some suggestions? all my backups are being burned choppy and its really hard to play the games.

I use swap magic 3.6, and taiyo yuden dvd-rs.

maybe I have a virus or something? I do remember back in the day I used to burn CDs and they would come up like this, then I reformatted..
.is that the only way?

I'm going to try cleaning the lens, you use rubbing alcohol?
as for speeds I've done this at 1,2,and 4 and all come out this way. either skipping or non-loading.

could be that the DVD burner in the PC is just going bad and needs to be replaced. Happened to my Sony after about 2 years.
Everything was going great then all of the back ups started having problems.
Replaced the burner and the problem was solved.

If you have cleaner the PS2 laser
and all previous games still work fine
and you are using the exact same discs to do them
then it could very well be your burner

one thing I suspect it isn't is the burner actually. its rather new, I bought it not even more than a few months ago, along with the DVD-Rs. might it be a virus that my anti-virus hasn't picken up or something? or a self-extracting .exe that my ZoneAlarm keeps warning me about?

Scan with your antivirus (AVG free is the best) adaware lavasoft (best for spyware)
Also what are you specs of your pc to burn a DVD @4x you need
800mhz Pentium 3
256+mb Ram
