anydvd? I use AnyDVD and then use CloneDVD with it but can i use dvd encrypter in the same way as it seems more complicated and takes forever?

anydvd removes the protection and CloneDVD 2 is the transcoder plus burns thats your best choice/combo out there being the program updates to do the newer movies plus its very easy to use for nOObs. it should take you about 20 to 35 mins. to backup your movie with this proccess. how long is it taking?

http://webpages.charter.net/bacitup/

heres a guide to follow to using the program

thanks again, yes it only takes me 20 to 30 mins when i use AnyDVD but it was dvd encrypter which i mentioned is more hectic as it can take up to over an hour sometimes. With dvd encrypter when i insert
the dvd it goes through a long process whereas with AnyDVD it is like instant recording whats on the disk ect.

What i want to know, if you can help me, is if i use dvd encrypter what do i have to do next do i have to save it then i can make the cd or dvd can you please give me the process of how it is done.
Thank you so much.

ladyred07,oh ok your talking about DVD Decrypter right?

yes to use it you go ISO read then ISO write. but remember it will not do alot of the newer movies by its self. if you want to rip the movie to the HD with the program its good for that. use this guide for the program that will help you out

http://webpages.charter.net/bacitup/

heres a good one too

http://www.mrbass.org/dvdrip/

and if your going to use AnyDVD with DVD Decrypter do this....

To use DVD Decrypter in conjunction with AnyDVD as stated per Olli ->OF SLYSOFT AND CloneDVD

Proceed to the DVD Decrypter Opening Page - Tools - Settings

I/O Tab - Click on "Elby CDIO-Elaborate Bytes"

General Tab - un-check "Check For Structure Protection"

hi again,

I clicked on ISO read and ISOwrite and i saved it to my hardrive. It states that it was successful. When it is ready to burn and i put a dvd in, i get a message that the file is too big. Also do i use the DVD or CD and does this mean i have to get a dvd with more capacity?

yes you will need a DVD , some dvds won't need to be transcoded after you use DVD Decrypter. it depends on the size of the file you have. if its to big to fit on a "single layer" blank so you will have to run the flie though DVD Shrink first to shrink the file down so it will fit on a "single layer" dvd(DVD-5) which is (4.7 gig) or use a "daul layer"(DVD-9) which is(8.5 gig) so use that guide i posted and run the file though DVD Shrink then burn with Nero or dvd decrpter. remember to burn no faster than 8x with good media Taiyo Yuden and or Verbatim would be best

this is the guide you want

Backup with DVDDecrypter & DVD Shrink

hi again,

I used DVD Shrink and it did everything for me i couldnt believe it so i can use the cd's that i had and didnt have to buy more with a bigger capacity. (not very good with computer words but you know what i mean), it even burnt the cd for me so i didnt need any other program. I am starting to read about
all of this as you gave me so many things to look at so i can learn, for which i thank you, but there is so much to involved but i will get there. The copy i made was so clear.

thanks heaps

great remember you can use DVD Shrink alone without DVD Decrypter as long as its not a newer release with heavy protection. that would be i less step. good luck

oh, so its possible i just fluked this movie and could have probs with others. I never knew that there could be a lighter or heavier protection. So if that happens do i use dvd encrypter first and are there any settings on that to be done before i use it? and then what do i use after that can you give me in short what the full process would be when using dvd encrypter.

thanks again

ladyred07 ok lets start from the beginning . to do the newer movies you have several options

1. ok DVD Shrink and or dvd decryter will have problems doing the newer movies by there selfs you can run AnyDVD behind DVD Shrink but you will still have problems transcoding some of the newer movies.

2. you can use a program called "RipIt4Me" which combines DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter, FixVTS and then you burn with Nero or DVD Decrypter, its freeware and does a great job heres the info and guides for it

http://www.ripit4me.org/

http://www.ripit4me.org/guide.html

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/360110

3.IMO this is your best option since you already have AnyDVD use CloneDVD 2 with it. both programs update for life ,its very easy program to use for nOOBs like you who have limited ability backing up DVDs (i don't mean this in a bad way ok lol) you can control the burn speed (8x max is what you want to burn at) and the quality is good. theres a free 21 day trial also so you can download CloneDVD 2 here

http://www.slysoft.com/en/

and guides to use the programs

http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=72022

http://webpages.charter.net/bacitup/ (this one i posted several times)

read this over try a few things out and let me know how you come out.

thanks for all the information again i will have a look at it all
late tonight. This is just so interesting. And yes i was using AnyDVD with Clone DVD which was so simple (perfect for us newbies)but although i own Clone DVD i only had the
trial for AnyDVD and when i tried to buy it on line it asked so many
questions about my address and many personal things, whereas i thought it would only ask for a credit card and the usual and since i am in Australia and Slysoft is overseas i was a bit dubious. Thats why i started looking for an alternative program and lucky to have you help me.

regards,

Even though AC DC have sold over 150 million albums world wide ( as you can see i read a lot) i never listen to their music, but i hear they are really great.

hi again,

I used anydvdHD on a new movie and then tried to clone it with CloneDVD2 and it stated there were some files missing. I then used DVD Decrypter and that was good but when i tried to copy it with Nero it stated the CD was not big enough. I then used DVD Shrink and then burned it with Nero and it was ok, only i havent checked the cd if it is ok but looked very clear on the computer. Is there something i am doing wrong with AnyDVD and clone DVD2 or is there something i have to change in the settings.

thanks again

i have never used thoses kinda files with CloneDVD 2 but i am pretty sure CloneDVD 2 will not handle them
