just before xmas i re-flashed my xbox 360 from xtreme 2.0 to xtreme 3.0. halfway through flashing my floppy failed. so now i have a dead samsung drive (MS25).
Is there anyway to fix it? i am sikk of not fixing it!!! so plz help.
I have 2 sata ports on my motherboard. apparently theres a two wire trick - wots dat about? i cant find any info anywhere, i've searched!
the drive does not open, because it has xtreme 2.0 firmware on it, i cannot get it detected under windows because its need the 360 activate disk to put it in 0800 mode!!!
so how do i put it in 0800 mode so i can reflash it?
its been over 2 months now and nobody helps, they keep saying search. i've tried and nobody ever had a problem where they need to put it in 0800 mode for the computer to recognize it!!!
whoever helps me, i would be thanking for the rest of my life.
Thanks alot,

u culd try opening and putting that 0800 disc in their. Ur best of giving up and buying a new drive and flashing it with your original or your xtreme with original keys in it! or else ur xbox 360 won't detect it. get one from ebay!

If you were flashing it with xtreme 3 when the floppy failed, Im sure you still have that xtreme 3 file, and I'm sure you patched it with the key before flashing the drive, recovery the key from that file, and flash a new drive, or try the hotswap method, worked for me. Get any other sata port peripheral, i.e. Hard drive, computer dvd drive, etc, connect it upto the comp, and get to the dos promt, type in the flash command, and it should come up with primary master, primary slave, etc. At this point, remove the drive you have connected, and power up your 360, and plug the dvd drive into the SATA port of your comp, and hit 1 or whatever the option is for primary master, and it should reflash the drive, if the firmware is not corrupt, I doubt it will still be in protection mode, so you might not need the 0800 disk.

if you typed samread and it went through the steps then you should have the original back-up on your floppy or your usb stick......
its in the back ups folder....

I have a big problem, so I hope someone can help me.
A chip on the DVD Hitach/LG drive is burned.
I checked it and it's not the bios, it was another black one.
I don't have the key, so is there any chance?
