I just bought a PRE-MODDED X360.
They say the unit came modded from Hong Kong.

In any case, it runs backups and imports perfectly. It is an NTSC/J console.

Now, how do I find out the name of the modchip, my drive etc etc? Also, I am not interested in playing Xbox Live, but I want to upgrade the firmware as I want to play my Xbox games (GTA SA, Halo, Shenmue 2 and Doom3).

I did connect my line to the X360 and it asked me to upgrade my firmware but I stopped, thinking it will disable the mod-chip. Also, I got a mini CD-R which has this file in it :

ORIG.BIN

In a folder titled : 105951764406

BASICALLY put, how should I upgrade my system, is it safe? Will it put an end to the working of the modchip in any way????
