I have a DVD recorder that produces video rm and video ts files when it records. How can I edit these files, such as taking some of the content out? For example, I recorded what I thought was an hour show, but it was only half an hour. How can I cut the extra half hour out?

Hi.

Nerovision, part of the Nero suite or TMPGEnc DVD Author will suffice. I prefer TMPGEnc author. Version 1.6 is fully functional, the other versions in the past have had limitations in trial mode. Nerovision is fully functional in trial mode. TMPG is quite a bit faster.

Thanks for the info.
I actually have a purchased version of Nero Suite which includes Nerovision Express. When I go to add video files to the project, it asks that the files on disc be transferred to the hard drive. The question then is, what files? Is it the Video RM or the Video TS files?

The files are the same for the RM and TS folders. DVD video files have to be inside a VIDEO_TS folder according to standards since that's where players look to find them. The RM folder is one specific to DVD recorders. Most software shouldn't care which one you choose since they should link to the same files.
