By that I mean won't there be extra heat in the xbox 360?
I mean it already has the problem of the ring of death (Hence the three red lights), so isn't putting a modchip in your xbox 360 a tad risky?
I mean I have a modded PS2 and it couldn't work better, but a next gen console... I mean I don't want to risk spending several hundred dollars just to burn it afterwards..

Mod Chips are for people who are A. Lazy or B. Stupid. Im not saying that they dont work or w.e but the only reason for having one is if you bought it way before the flash mod came out. Why spend the money and risk all that other B.S when you can do a little reading, flash the drive, and be worry free knowing you can restore it back to normal if something go wrong.
