Do you need a Mod-Chip if the file is an .iso?

Of course you do....if you didn't do you seriously think all these people would risk opening up their Wii?

Any tips on what write/read speeds I should use in Imgburn?
Also, does Nintendo ban any chipped consoles?

I downloaded 4 games for my wii and only one worked.... the one that was already in .iso when i downloaded it. The ones in .r01 , part01.rar and etc didnt work. The .isos, once decompressed from the .r01 etc, i try to open it with winiso for example, it says that the image is invalid r something like this. I tried to burn it at 4x with maxell and verbatim dvd-r and nothing worked. Is it when I decompress with winrar that a problem happens or are all those torrents not good ? (probably not) thanks a lot.

Hi there,

Have a Wiikey installed, and have backed up Red Steel as per other threads instructions (using Dumptool & SD card). When I burn the ISO it all seems fine but the Wii will not recognize the backup copy. Anyone got any ideas ? Is there a patch I have to apply or something like that ? Im using a ASUS DRW 1814BL with Verbatim DVD-R lightscribe disks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Try burning the backup using 1x or 2x speed. 4x and up tend to cause the Wii not to see the backup. Also, did you configure your wii mod as region free?

Hi there, yes, tried 2x and 1x. The setup disk worked the first time and now it just keeps saying "An error has occured, press the eject button and remove the disk..."

Did you burn the setup disk yourself? If so, did you burn it also in 1x or 2x speed? If so, then the only thing I could think of is to remove and reinstall the wiikey.

Cheers for that mate, but it just got more confusing. I borrowed some backup wii games from Indonesia and these play fine so it must be a hardware issue on my PC.

im having problems playing a backup copy of Resident Evil 4. its an NTSC version on a modchipped NTSC Wii. it will recognize the disc at the main screen, but when i try to start the game, it goes to a black screen saying "Please insert Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition disc"

i burned it at 1x in ImgBurn with an AOPEN DUW1616/ARR 1000 but its on a DVD+R, someone mentioned booktyping it, but AOPEN isnt listed in the manufacturers on the options page in ImgBurn. What setting should i use, or should i use a different program? which?

I've also burned a few iso's into DVDs and some will play while others won't. Is there a proper way of burning iso's?

Is it brawl? If so then you'll need a DL disk. Otherwise single layer is fine.
