As long as the disc is the same region as your wii then there is no problem with updating, a search of the forums would have answered this for you..

I have some pal versions that I want to play on my wii. They are in iso format, but there is no other file that came with the iso to burn or play it. Any thoughts? So far, I've got a couple of coasters. Hopefully you can help. Thanks in advance.

I have no idea what this means !!!

What else do you want other than an iso file ?

Try reading a guide, it explains everything.

Ok -- here's the deal. I have downloaded a Wii ISO (USA and PAL) and tried to to burn them using Nero 7 on a DVD -R and +R DVD and they are still not recognized by my wii. When I put them in, it spins up and says "unrecognizable Disk"

PLEASE PLEASE Help!

I have tried two games.

nope... :-( Is that what's missing? According to what I have read, all you need to do is burn the ISO. I am sorry for being so naive but what is a MOD chip? I can't just burn the ISO?

Again, I have not come across one thread that mentioned a MOD chip. Most of these responses are "Just burn it using Nero 7" which apparently is only 1/2 the solution.

That's why I posted my original query

/facepalm

Get a modchip. The wii checks for a genuine discs, and a mod chip tells it all discs are 'genuine'.

You NEED a modchip to run burned discs. PERIOD.

Burn your game iso (meaning an unscrambled dump of a wii game) with ImgBurn (google it) at 4x speed. If that doesn't work, try 1x, 3x, 8x, and 16x as well.
You must burn to a DVD-R or DVD+R (DVD-R reccomended).

DualLayer is for Brawl only.
No you cannot put two wii iso's on a DL because no one has invented such a method yet.
You can put multiple GAMECUBE iso's on a DL (search the forums).

Use ImgBurn (or Nero wtf/ever).

Are you blind or insane ?

This forum is full of nothing but discussion about mod chips.

Just glancing at the first page alone I can see at least 10 threads that discuss mod chips.

So put some effort in and educate yourself.

Do you mean you tried to extract each file separately? There's no need for that. The iso file is compressed as a multi-part archive. This means you extract the first file (.rar or .r00), and winrar will automatically unrar the whole archive (all the .r01, .r02, .r03... files).
