But in order to get my PAL box to work in NTSC , i used the splinter cell exploit without a hitch. I have no tv, so what i have done so far, in order to get video output from my xbox is to connect it via a canopus advc110 so i can see composite output in iMovie HD on my lcd.
The canopus box doesn't accept anything other than SD signals and as i havent got the hd pack plugged in at that point, the only video settings options are normal - widescreen - letterbox.
I understand that the 480p etc. video settings are automaticaly toggled on once you connect the HD pack.
So, i power down the console, connect the 3rd party HD pack > component VGA box and switch on the console and flick the lcd's analogue input on.
The screen is black at this point - i get an "out of range. h frequency = 15khz, v. frequency = 59 khz", which i assume is Geeklish for "this console is outputting at 480i"
What i now try and do is to literally blindly go into the settings>video menu, and try to toggle the 480p, 720p and 1080i modes to "yes" and then press the triggers etc down to toggle the hd dashboard.
So...... as you can see it is an awkward setup and I need help before i hurl the console out of the window in utter frustration!
i cant believe it could be so hard to try and get a console hooked up to an LCD! using the vgabox setup i described above, i have been able to get my ps2 to output successfully with a 480p compatible game like "BLACK".
Any help welcome, especially the precise d-pad moves & keypresses i will need to do to enable the Progressive modes. Maybe my monitor just isnt suitable? wel if that is the case can someone tell me if that is the case or not.
