Let's start with the basics. First off you have HijackThis located in the wrong place. You need to create a folder on your C: drive called HijackThis. Then place the HijackThis.exe file inside it.

HijackThis saves a log file after it is run and if it has it's own directory that is where the log file will be saved. So set up a folder to look like this: C:\HijackThis\HjT.exe Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you to rename it!

I did not see anything in your current log that you just ran, so I wanted to make a suggestion. Have you run a system defrag? Have you analysed your HDD? Have you emptied your temp files and cookies? Are you running Internet Explorer?

If you are running Internet Explorer I would like to sugget you get the browser called Firefox. You can get it at http://www.mozilla.com After you get the browser go back to the site and get different add ons and features. IE Tab is a great feature to have. This will allow you to run Firefox on Microsoft download sites.

The next thing that I want you to do is to download a few programs. I am guessing that the ZoneAlarm that I see in your post is also an Anti-Virus and not just a firewall. If it is not an Anti-Virus then you need to get one. Go to http://www.download.com and download the following items. All the items I mention are free so make sure that as you type in the name in the search engine to put free after it. Example: AVG Free

AVG Free (Anti-Virus if you do not have one)

Ad-Aware Free (By Lavasoft)

A-Squared Free

Spybot Search & Destroy (Free)This particular program will ask if you want to make a backup of your current settings. This is not necessary. Just be sure to check the items that you are selecting for removal. You do not want to remove something that you want. For Example: The program does not like my VPN software!

CCleaner (Free)

My suggestion is to boot in safe mode after you have installed and updated these programs. They will clean your cookies and temp files for you. The will also do a little bit of a registry sweep. You get to safe mode by pressing F8 repeatedly at startup.

I hope that you do not have too much bad stuff to have to clean out of your machine. The last step that I would like for you to take is to go to Start-> All Programs-> Accessories-> System Tools and run a "Disk Cleanup"

The go to the same area again and run a "Disk Defragmenter" After all of this is done see if your system is still running slow. If it is run another HjT and post a new log. I will analyse it a little closer this time.

Good luck and let me know how it works out.

Edit: To make a change
