Ummm can i Update the firmware on my 360 of My PC doesnt use SATA but EIDE? hmmm

nope....you need on board sata or a sata pci card

Oh wow look at that, i consider myself a really savvy PC user , since i have been on since the tandy , commadore days and i had no idea that they make a sata pci card. NICE. I learned something new today.. Do you guys have one to reccomend since i did a search and it came up with tons.. (hmmm i even see ones with usb 2.0 ports)

depends what drive you have:


-samsung

needs the via chipset


-hitachi

needs the silicon chipset

okay i was wondering about this too...because i dont believe i have an sata on my chipset....
so if i have the samsung drive a pci sata will not work??

Ohhhh ok so if I do get a pci-sata card it has to have a silicon chipset right (cuz i have hitachi 360).

Now i understand. Ive been reading the forum about chipset this and chipset that but didnt know exactly which chipset was being talked about. Just to confirm "silicon" is the actual type of chip right?

i have a question bout this flashin stuff for the 360... i wanna do it an i have seen tuts on it but i just dont no were to get these chipsets from an that cable that u hook up to ur 360's drive to ur computer... if u guys could help it would me sweet thanks

This card is for Samsung drives and Hitachi 0078FK and 0079FK. I haven't tested with any other Hitachi drives but it *should* work for all other versions of the Hitachi drive.

I've personally bought my SIL from this guy on ebay and I can pretty much assure you if you offer $15 you can get this card for $25 shipped. I recieved my card 2 days after I paid him.
