I've tried using DVD Decypter and DVD Shrink to copy DVDs. They both work well at getting stuff from the DVD to the HD. The problem I'm now facing is getting the information to the DVD+R. My computer operates on Windows XP, and comes with a DVD making program that only makes data DVDs. I downloaded Nero (trial version) but it does not recognize DVD shrink files as a legitimate file type. Would the full version of Nero allow me to save DVD Shrink files? I checked out the DVD2One site, and they require the use of a decrypter for copying commercial DVDs. Will DVD2One burn DVD Shrink or DVD Decrypter files from the HD to DVD+R? I want to be able to copy DVDs of all sizes, and preferably be able to edit so far as to compress and remove extras when copying. Can someone please inform me of a good program (or compatable pair of programs) that work with Windows XP that would get me all the way from original commercial DVD to burned DVD+R. Thanks.

Nero will burn the image file DVD Shrink gives, I don't think your looking in the right spot. When Nero opens click cancel to close the new compilation window then go to either file or recorder (depending on what Nero you have) and find the option that says burn image, find the place where you saved the DVD Shrink file and burn it, simple :)

i don't think that shirnk produces an image file i always get atleast 7 vob's that Nero express can recognize. make sure u r in dvd mode

As far as decrypter goes it basically does the same thing in file mode(it will select the necessary files you need) leave out the extras and menus

open Nero and use the wizard. Click on dvd-> new dvd-> other dvd formats-> dvd-video. then open the folder with the files in it in the right side. Select all the files from DVD Shrink and drag them into the video_ts folder and burn.

Just to clarify , DVD2One is only a compession application Pariah

Good to see someone else uses my Nero method rather than the long winded New Compilation after exiting Wizard (nice one sly)

P.S. Nero Xpress is crap , you want Nero Burning Rom (much better)

Ok, I made a "successful" burn with DVD Shrink and Nero (First Disc of Season 3 of Friends). I am still having some difficulties with DVD Shrink, however. I'm having trouble with the reauthor mode. I wanted to eliminate the extras so I don't have to compress the episodes so much, and I assume re-author is the only way to remove the extras? When I try to re-author, and drag files from the original screen to the re-author screen the new files are reading as double their original size. My 6578MG DVD suddenly becomes 13+Gig, and compression levels go from 69% to 40%. To save on compresion, I left everything included and backed-up without the re-authoring. If you can help me overcome this hurdle, I'd appreciate it. Also, my Nero trial copy software expires on Sunday (not much trial period as I downloaded it on Thursday). Is the full paid for version expensive (and more importantly - worth the cost)? It obviously works, but is there much to be gained through the purchased version? Thanks.

There are files in there that arent their full size, confusing shrink i guess. Best thing to do is to go to re-author and select half the episodes, then do the same for the other half.
