I am going on holiday soon and i was wondering is it possible to store ISO's on an external harddrive , and then connect the harddrive to the psp , extract them to the memory card and then play them?

No, unfortunatley the USB drivers within the PSP itself can only be connected as slave, meaning that it cannot access external media (at the moment). The only other solutione would be to take a laptop, or buy a bigger card (you can get 8GB now).
