Have you checked the settings in the recovery menu?

The ISO image might be broken. I had a similar problem with my MGS-PO (CSO format), but once I inserted an UMD all ISOs that previously didn't work (the black screen), started to work fine. I'm using 3.03-OE-C and no settings changed, except "use 1.50 Kernel".

I got a copy from PSPISO which runs perfectly on 3.03oec. I have no umd disabled and cpu set to 266.

I know that for Acid 2 you need to manually modify 4 files that do not decrypt. Might be the same for Portable Ops. People who download them usually don't see this since someone already fixed it for them.

you shouldnt have to manually "modify" or "decrypt" any files for ISO's. If it dont work it's not compatible or it was a bad rip (more common then one would think :D)

First: set the game folder to 3.03 kernal.
Second: disable the no UMD mode.
Third: set both cpu speeds to 333.
Fourth: go into advanced/advanced config: and toggle all individualy in order disabled(all three)/enabled(all three)/disabled(all three)

This worked for me after pulling my hair out. Seems to work for a lot of others too.

Good Luck and SKYDA "chill the F*** out dude!!!!!!"

sorry for being such a a$$h0le about this before, but i got it fixed now. thanks for your help also!

seeings it being my first time downloading and installing a devhook installer, i fort everything came with it, like a pack.

but it was missing the "3.01 update EBOOT.PBP" file and the "devhook 3.01 FW" files

to get "metal gear solid portable ops" working on a 1.50 psp, you have to download these 3 things

"Devhook 0.51 - 3.01 FW support" < this is the actual devhook itself

http://dl.qj.net/Devhook-0.51-3.01-FW-su...11596/catid/114

"Devhook 3.01 FW Installer" < this is the 3.01 fw setup to run MGSPO

http://dl.qj.net/3.01-DevHook-Firmware-I...11615/catid/151

"FW 3.01 update" < this is the 3.01 PBP file to run the 3.01 Firmware

http://dl.qj.net/FW-3.01-update-PSP/pg/12/fid/11396/catid/163

first you install "Devhook 0.51 " onto your memorystick root, with the "PSP" "FBM" and "DH" folders.

then you copy the "Devhook 3.01 FW" folders
"%__SCE__301_dh_fw_installer" and "%__SCE__301_dh_fw_installer" to the "GAME" folder in your memorystick.

then you copy the "FW 3.01 update" file to the root of your memory stick, and rename it to "EBOOT.PBP"

im happy i got this sh1t workin, its a really fun game, for me anyway, cause i have never played any of the mgs series.

i hope this solves anyone elses problems aswell, i got all the files from one site, im not sure if i can post links, but forgive me anyway. i mean well, and im trying to help.

thanks

What if you have 3.02 oe or higher? Do you need devhook?

Sorry if I'm being a bit dense, but what do you mean by this part, have all 3 options enabled or disabled or what?

Edit: >_>
Well, seeing as superduty got banned since I posted this, does anyone else have any tips on getting it to work with 3.10 OE-A?

what he ment was when u go to recovery mode select advanced while in there select advanced configuration while in there u need to select these and follow the numbers:

plane modules in umd/iso (1,2,3)
execute boot.bin in umd/iso (1,2,3)
use isofs driver also in umd (1,2,3)

remember to go 1,1,1 2,2,2 3,3,3
hope this helps

i think for all those people who cant get metal gear working should just download 3.03-OE-c im not sure as i havent tried it, but so far everyone thinks that its better than devhook,

good luck
