Recently I deleted AOL 9.0 SE software from my computer. I use Windows XP Home SP2

Now,whenever I start my computer, I get the following message which disappears when I click OK:
Windows cannot find C:\PROGRAM FILES\COMMON
FILES\AOL\1129086214\EE\AOLSOFTWARE.EXE'Make sure you typed the
name correctly, and then try again.

How can I get rid of this message permanently? I have already deleted all AOL references that I could find on my C drive and in the registry

Sounds like it a service at startup still in there somewhere. Use msconfig and see if it refers to some aol stuff there you can turn off.

AOL is notorious for being on the list of about a million apps, that never fully uninstall.

After checking your services, do a quick search thru your system and look for all AOL leftover folders. Could be in Documents and Settings, Program Files and Program Files\Common Files. Delete all of them.

Run a program like RegSeeker or CCleaner. Clean up all leftover registry entries. If you use RegSeeker, you can do a registry search for AOL and delete all it finds.

Restart your computer.
