I am trying to burn The departed onto a DVD Shrink begins to encode but near the end shows a Cycle redundancy error what can I do? I am new to burning movoes and such and this is not from a DVD disc I have the movie from a torrent thanks in advance to anyone that can help me...:)

It looks like those video files you downloaded have already been converted in to dvd compliant ones and shrink is seeing them.

SO....

DVDshrink is outdated as far as it's decryption ability, that's why you're getting those errors. Try using any of these free apps to get the job done.

DVDFab decrypter
ripit4me

You can get the apps here along with guides on use (how easy is that), I suggest you give ripit4me a try.

Thankyou for ur response yes I converted using convertXto dvd and it was successful..now I have both rip4me and DVD fab platinum if I were to use Rip4me what do I do? and once its complete do I still have to run it through shrink or burn right away with Nero...

Ripit4me will take care of every thing for you. Make sure you have DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter installed, you'll also need FixVTS. Once setup, you can use the one click mode for the backup.
