I see this long ass posts about "The Quick and EASY way to backup PS2 DVD-ROMs!!!", and they're
long
annoying
hard
and NOT EASY
They also tell you that you need to download like 75 different programs!!!
Who's got time for that?!?!?!
Read mine.
I backed up a disk with JUST THESE tools:
blank DVD-R disk
alcohol 120% <--- on my signature because its so easy to use
the ps2 game you want to backup
a ps2
a dvd rom burner or a computer
Swap MAgic Discs
Alright here's what you do:
1. open Alcohol 120
2. select "image making wizard"
3. insert your ps2 game
(if not done automatically, set datatype to Playstation 2)
4. select where to save the dvd image onto your computer
5. hit start
(wait for the dvd to finish writing to your HD)
6. pop in your blank DVD-R disk
7. select image burning wizard
find the image file in your computer (with the browse button)
8. set your writing speed to 4X <---- VERY IMPORTANT
9. let the game be written on to the blank disc
that's it.
I'm warning you now
YOU NEED MODCHIPS OR A BOOT DISC
(I recommend Swap MAgic)
you can't just use this guide and pop the backed up disc in
you need a MODCHIP or SWAP MAGIC DISKS

Yup works fine, but the big guides actually give you the knowledge you need and why you need to do various stuff.. but yeah this works too if you use the correct media and have knowledge of how to do this.

1)Your title thread
2)Your adapt ability to annoy senior members like myself, who write these guides, and then for someone like yourself to describe them as
long
annoying
hard
and NOT EASY
3)your inapt ability to read up on the Stickies located at the top of this thread
Please feel free to write any sort of guide you like, but please dont dis-respect those who have written others

yeah, and i can do you one better.
Get DVD Decrypter and install it.
1. put PS2 game in drive and select "mode-ISO-Read" and pick a place to save it
2. now select "mode-ISO-Write" and browse to the file you just saved, pick your burning speed and press the green arrow
3. sit back and have a nice ice cold adult beverage.

Please people, these easy burning methods have been around since the very beginning. He just did not search around for an easier way.
and P>S This method WILL do dual layer discs. But in order to play them you either need a mod chip that plays dual layer back ups (DMS4 Pro) or any mod chip that plays dual layer originals in which case you just patch it with Toxic DL Patcher.

Yeah, as Steimy said, it's pretty much that easy. At least for DVD-5s.

Yeah.. It's not exactly hard is it. We used to rip the early dvd games with Nero.. copy entire disk.. simple as that.
Then they started getting clever, but alcohol120 took care of it.
Finally we used the same method as steimy, without thinking anything of it.
People love to make things that are easy seem really hard. They seem to get a lot of mileage out of it before somebody comes along and throws in the proverbial spanner.
I had a 3 line xbox backup guide just like this.

Oh, of course, I know sarcasm when I see it. But you'd be surprised how many people still mess it up.
Keep up the good work.
