How to put mp3 files on my v3m with the microSD

I recently bought a razr v3m and it came with a microSD card and the miniSD adapter. I tried to put a mp3 file on the card from my computer, but when I put the card back in the phone, the phone didn't recognize the file (it didn't show up at all).

The question is, is there a certain format of audio files that I need to use so the phone will recognize them? Is there a certain folder I need to copy the audio files to on the microSD card?
