So I tried a few software and converted avis to MP4 but not all of them would play. What's the best program to convert video files to MP4s so it can play on PSP?

I just downloaded PSP video9. Can somebody help me out here. I heard that for 3.10oe-a firmware we can have videos at full resolution or something. For example, when I converted a widescreen video it doesnt take up the entire screen, instead it's very small. How I convert videos for bigger viewing.

Its not... it uses old X264 builds, the whole software is old.
XVID4PSP is much better, results surpass anything that PSPvideo9 does.

Yeah granted, but, if you tried using XVID4PSP it is just as handy too use, there is preset options much like PSPvideo9 that you can use.
Try it mate, dont settle for crap encodes, i done some major encoding using all types of software and XVID4PSP came out tops, with MeGUI coming second.
If you own an XBOX360 you can stream the movies as well. ;P

Can you tell me... If I want the best quality of a DVD to PSP transfer, what options should I select in Xvid4PSP? My PSP is version 3.03-OE-C.

What is up with this. I used this XviD4PSP you suggested and the MP4s that come out of it won't play on my PSP. All I see is a file that says unsupported data. What a waste of time. Looks like I gona have to install PSP video 9 again.

I've used PSP Video 9, Plato Movie to PSP and a few others and thought they were pants to be honest. The best converter i have come across is PQDVD PSP Video Express. Its simple to use, no farting about with a clean interface. Its free to download either from PQDVD or from http://www.download.com. Never had any problems with it at all. The best things I like about it is you can set the output memory size yourself (I set mine about 400mb) and you get great quality files and it converts in real time so if the films 1hr45min thats all it takes. You can upgrade to PQDVD PSP Movie Creator which lets you convert ripped dvds. You can register that for a few quid or find the keygen for it.

The software I just mentioned in my last post automatically chooses the size you need to do that. Also if your file is really good quality why dont you just use the zoom option in the psp's playback menu?

If you want full screen video @ 480x272, use "PMP AVC" setting in xvid4psp and download PMPMODAVC. In my opinion, the best software player available.

I quit using it since the lock on the native player has been broken.
