The only other small issue is when trying to download adobe reader 8 - I get error mess 1406. Could not write value to key /software/classes/.pdf/PersistentHandler which I think is something to do with administrator permissions, which I have..also start up is very slow and sometimes pc does not shutdown by itself..any ideas?? thanks Julie
As for the slow startup and shutdown... not sure... could be the combination of Windows One Care Live and AVG. They might be conflicting as Windows One Care Live has its own AntiVirus scanner. Running two AV programs is usually not the best thing to do as it can cause slowdowns. Everything on your PC will be scanned twice... once by each scanner.
You may want to disable or uninstall one of them and see if that helps.
