I've been looking through threads about how to start playing umd games downloaded. For instance, Kingdom of paradise. I have downloaded fastloader and umd emulator and the downgrader. Now im just stuck of what to do. I've made a ISO file in the ROOTS file but nothing is working. Mostly all the files say they are corrupted. Please help, thanks.

First what firmware do you have. all firmware up to 3.03 can be downgraded. anything above your screwed.
Phat PSP 1->MS Slot Dead.RIP
PSP SLIM->3.60->3.71->And with a lil bit of MAGIC->3.71M33->3.71M33-2->3.71M33-3->3.90M33->3.90M33-2->4.01M33-2

The ISO folder in the root is for custom firmware only, which requires no fastloader/umd emulator, it simply runs from the main menu. You need to be on custom firmware, or official version 1.50 with Devhook to run ISO's, so yea we need to know what firmware your on.

^use a custom firmware or a loader. check 1st your psp version aka firmware. it's under your settings>systemsettings>systeminformation.. we couldn't give any help unless we know your psp's situation.. :)

Your PSP wouldnt turn on without firmware mate :)
Follow geri's instructions to see which one you have, we can tell you how to downgrade before we know which one you have

Ah ok just follow the downgrader instructions, make sure you read them thouroughly before you begin, and make sure your battery is fully charged and plugged into the mains. I say read them well because i myself am not familiar with the 2.71 downgrader, but if you have any problems about it post here and im sure other people will help.
If you experience any other problems, just post here, i'll be here most of the day.

no offence but if u dont know what firmware is then i wouldnt get into downgrading psp's just yet as there is a small chance of bricking
if u still want to downgrade then use this excellent and very easy to follow tutorial http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/about17935.html

Hmmm which step is that in the guide? Am i looking at the same one as you, with the colour indicators? If you you shouldn't have to run the update, just the packaged files

Edit: I actually read the guide and you do have to run it. There are a couple of 2.71 DG's, for different motherboards, you should find out which on you have before trying again

To check for TA082/Ta086 look at the top of that guide, theres a spolier button with a picture. If it is, follow the TA-082 guide, if it isn't, follow the 2.71 guide.
You can get the 1.5 update here
http://dl.qj.net/PSP-Firmware-1.50-File-...d/163/catid/163
Although it will need to be renamed before you use it, as mentioned in the guide

YES! I have finally downgraded to 1.50 lol. Now can I put games onto my psp and run them? Or do I still have to download programs to run them?
