Hi! I am very new at this game but I have done some reading on the subject. Created a disk image using nero but the file is about 7gb and will not fit on a dvd. The original dvd has 2 movies on it and I will like to put these on dvd-r without loss of quality. I have nero 6.0, Roxie, dvd sqeeze with smartripper. Please advise.

No u cannot spilt a .iso file (image file) but you can spilt the two main features on to two disks useing reauthor in dvd shrink

open DVD Shrink, click on open disk, let it analyze the click reauthor twice, it should say new dvd in both new windows, send one of the two titles to one new dvd and the other title to the other one then click on back up on one and when that is done click on the other

Use Nero to burn

Or u can use ifo edit but if you r running xp the process is complicated if u r running 2k be my guest but i do not use it so i cannot help other than tell u to read a guide

Win xp sp1
amd 2000+
256MB ddr 333
pioneer dvr-ao6

Thanks Oriphus!

The dvd-r works fine but for dvd-rw the player says "no disk". May be my player does not recognize dvd-rw's. I am using Apex AD-600 with OFFA firmware.

DVD RW can be a bit more tricky to get players to recognise them. I dont use them at all!

I still haven't figured out how to split the movie using shrink or DVD Decrypter. Got alot of learning to do.I have used dvdfab however it will automatically split the movies for you.Alot slower than either shrink or decrypter
though but good enough until I get the others worked out. Perhaps shrink will one day offer that option for us newbie's.
Big thanks to herbsman for recommending to me to try Nero again. I dug out my copy of version 5.5.9.35 and updated it to 5.5.10.50 and it now recognizes my Memorex Duel X-1. Burns dvd's 11 min faster than Easy 6 at the proper media speed.
Another big thanks to Oriphus for his excellent Nero burning guide too :)
For any other newb's like me that want to split a disk while still learning the other prog's here the link to DVDFab.

That would be awesome Oriphus Thank you. For now I'd be happy with the shrink guide since it's free. No extra $ to spend on anymore prog's atm nor do I want to try and master too many at once. I'd just get myself confused lol. I've tried to copy and paste into notepad a guide from various sources, but I've yet to actually produce a viable copy, must be leaving something important out.
Doh, After doing some more browsing I see I misunderstood ya. To split a movie with Shrink you need to then edit the files with TMPGEnc in order to make it work..
Either way I'm still interested in the Guide ;)
*starts to think on how to convince the wife of the need for yet more "must have" software lol*

Here is a Shrink guide i put together to help anyone with re-authoring in the new version 3 beta 5:

Let me know when you want a run through of DVD Shrink/TMPGEnc DVD Author for splitting.

Great job on that guide Chris! I see I was making the mistake of hitting the deep analysis way to early in the process. I edited my last response and went ahead and downloaded the trial version(s) of TMPGEncDVD Author 1.5 as well as the trial of TMPGEncPlus 2.5.. One question I see you can buy serials to unlock both for 99 where as just the DVD Author is 68.. Have you used the Plus as well? Sounds like a decent program for 31 more $ Or is it just overkill?

I tend to go for the cheapest available if i buy software. You can get a freware version of TMPGEnc from their website! DVD Author is the one you need to buy :-)
