My nokia dbox2 used to work but now someof the channels are blacking out so I have been told to re programme it. I am currently running sportster but I dont know which image I should use to re programme my dbox. Commando or Sportster?

I have tried using the guides off techo source, which one do I follow the FTP one or the ifa one? I am trying this off my laptop using wifi would it work?

On ifa it says UDP-port is already in use by Internetconnection sharing [svchost]. To continue you will need to deactivate this. Please be aware you need to assign a fixed IP to that network adapter.

What does this mean?

You might have more than one network adapter in your PC and IFA is confused and needs a static IP. Go here for a guide to IFA and FTP.

Go to the advanced settings of the network card normally connected to the internet and untick Internet Connection Sharing.

That is already unticked.

I am connecting to my internet through wifi and on my network connections I have 2 connections local area connection and wirless network connection. The one that is connecting me to the internet is the wirless one. On the tutorial when I have to go to internet protocol which one of these do I do it on as am not sure which one of these I am going to connect to my dbox with!

I get the same error and I am not using ICS either, as I said earlier you have to disable other adapters. In your case, disable the wireless one until you are finished flashing.

If you get the error with ICS at one of your network cards Internet connection sharing is enabled.

I beg to differ, I do not use ICS and it gives the message that it is enabled.

It doesn't matter what you use.
ICS is ticked in the settings at one of your network cards.

I disabled the wirless connection, did the first 2 steps of the guide. Then it says connect dbox to laptop through crossover which I did but when I click repair on the connection it says try again if the problem persists contact your networker. What have I done wrong?

No it isn't. If I reboot the PC sometimes it works. ICS is not enabled and never has been on my PC.

Did you give the network card a static IP? Don't bother pressing REPAIR it isn't necessary.

svchost doesn't start from alone and occupy network cards.
If you get the error message with ICS from IFA, ICS is enabled.
