ok so now i have a 3.03 OE-C psp im eager to start customising my xmb but have a couple of questions :P

1)is it really just as simple as downloading a topmenu_plugin.rco and dropping it in the resource folder in the flash0?
2)is it possible to go back to the bog standard sony xmb after customisation?
3)are there any icons that dont show up when installing topmenu's?
4) i also want to change volume bar, battery icon etc but can i do this as well as flashing a topmenu? what i mean is, will everything still look ok if i install a custom topmenu and custom battery icon, volume bar etc?

thanks anyone that can help ;)

Currently on my 7th PS3 and 4th Xbox, gotta love technology..

Indeed it is, modifying it is slightly more complex

2)is it possible to go back to the bog standard sony xmb after customisation?

Yes, just back up your entire flash0 before you begin, to go back, simply drag the backup onto your psp

3)are there any icons that dont show up when installing topmenu's?

All icons remain stock untill you change them, none of them dissapear unless you made them

4) i also want to change volume bar, battery icon etc but can i do this as well as flashing a topmenu? what i mean is, will everything still look ok if i install a custom topmenu and custom battery icon, volume bar etc?

Yup, all components are installable individually

Anymore questions just ask here ^^

Psp-hacks.com's forums have some brilliant ones (if you see one you like in a thread, ask the poster to upload, they usually oblige), and qj.net has a couple, specifically the "Ultimate Black XMB" which i used as a starting point for my custom job.

They're pretty much the only 2 i use

Oh and a quick side note, if you brick or semi-brick your PSP when messing with the .roc's, dont completely reinstall your OE firmware, simply replace the last .rco you edited with the stock one from your backup folder.

Saved me a fair few reinstalls i can tell ya
