Hi I am a new user to these forums.
I have googled a lot on this subject a have got more and more confused. A few links suggested I may get some clear advice from the afterdawn forums so here I am.
I have a PSP that?s at version 2.60 firmware and a non TA-082 motherboard is it possible to downgrade this to 1.50.
I have read that I have to upgrade to 2.71 then downgrade, other articles say its possible to downgrade without upgrading first. Could someone please point me at a walkthrough/tutorial on what is really possible. Any and all help is gratefully received. Alec

Hi Arc, Thanks for the quick response. I am going to go for it and downgrade using the guide you showed me. I fell at the first hurdle i downloaded the 2.71 firmware and created a folder on my memory stick called UPDATE and droped the file 8046_EBOOT.PBP in there. What do i do now to start the upgrade??. The site your link sent me to was not helpful and said i would say good buy to homebrew :-(

I'm doing the same thing you are man. Did you change the EBOOT.PBP to UPDATE.PBP? Once you do that. go back to the game and memory stick and click and it should run.

No worries man
First off you need to see what motherboard you have, look at the top of that guide, it should have a spoiler concealing a picture and a method of telling which one you have

Thats good, follow the guide for 2.71 downgrade, not 2.71 TA-086.
Let me know if any steps stump you

GTA:LCS was for an alternative method i used which was easier, you don't need it.
OK so your 1.5 eboot has been renamed to UPDATE.PBP and is in ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE
Have you extracted the downgrader and moved its contents to the root of your ms?

OK asim, you now need to download "Generic Downgrader with Hen D" the text above the 1.5 update in the guide. After downloading it, right click on it and extract it.
Open the file you have extracted and drag its entir contents into the root of your psp drive, if it asks do you want to overwrite, click yes to all.
Now disconnect your psp and move onto the next step
prailone: yea waiting for it to charge is a drag :P

w00t prail moves onto phase 2 :)
This guide will show you how to install custom firmware, ignore that it says 3.10oe it will work for any OE firmware, you just need to decide which one you want :P personally i prefer 3.03oe-C coz you can mod the living hell out it :)

prail:
steps like this:
Quote: //Download the 310OE.rar file, and unrar the folders oeupmaker and oeupmaker% from the root folder to the GAME folder on your Memory Stick (X:\PSP\GAME). Navigate to X:\PSP\GAME\oeupmaker\ (where X is your PSP's drive letter). Rename the 1.50 Update Eboot to 150.PBP and copy it to the oeupmaker folder. Rename the 3.10 Update Eboot to 310.PBP and copy it to the oeupmaker folder.
You need to change to:
Quote: //Download the 303OE.rar file, and unrar the folders oeupmaker and oeupmaker% from the root folder to the GAME folder on your Memory Stick (X:\PSP\GAME). Navigate to X:\PSP\GAME\oeupmaker\ (where X is your PSP's drive letter). Rename the 1.50 Update Eboot to 150.PBP and copy it to the oeupmaker folder. Rename the 3.03 Update Eboot to 303.PBP and copy it to the oeupmaker folder.
