Hey, ive heard rumours about being able to rip a xbox 360 game to the 360 harddrive and being able to play them off it?

Ive currently got a 500gb external harddrive for my pc so this would come in handy if this were true.

Just like to know if its possible?

you can make your 360 hard drive bigger if u want to you need a 360 hard drive of coarse a system to take out the hard drive with the system off open the 360 hard drive unit. Then take out th hard drive take the hard drives[the lager one and 360 one] put in the comp. then all the memory on the 360 hard drive put on the bigger hard drive. then put the lager hard drive in the 360 hard drive holder then u have a lager hard drive.

p.s i have a 700g in my 360 i figured this out on my own and im 13

they dont make a 700gig 2.5 inch hard drive so i dont know what you are smoking and last i heard you could put in a larger hard drive but you need information from the original drive which will limit the size of the drive to 20 gig no matter what size drive it is

true about the hard drive not being 700 gigs because they dont make one, but you dont limit the size of the drive, you can put a 120 gig in with no problems, but im sure ms can detect it...

You've gotta be rich to have much gigage in a 2.5 inch hdd, also a couple million for engineering.

it could be possable.
this is what i figure about the whole playing gmaes off hdd.
1. download demo of games from xbl
2. connect hdd to pc (via talismoon minispy usb....)
3. look at the format of the demo, change the iso accordingl
4. put your ripped game onto the hdd in the same place as the demo.

Is what possible ?.If you mean installing games to the hard drive and playing from there then yes - the NXE update was released on 19th November. You just have to have the relevant game disc in the tray when firing up the game

So the only advantage to saving a game to the HDD is to avoid running it from the DVD-ROM? It seems to me that if you still have to have the game disc what's point of saving it to the HDD?

Ugh it's been explained over and over again. There are many benefits to running a game off of the HDD.....

Ugh...
I can see the read speed being increased if you have a problem with that in the first place.

Writes to the HDD so no advantage there...

I don't have a modded box (personally unless you work at Micky D's it's easier to buy the games anyway) so no help there...

Possibly save on wear of DVD-ROM? Oh, I guess some people want to reorient their Xbox while they're playing...

Thanks NDarkness... YOU'RE very insightful and thanks for YOUR help!
