PS2 Tray pin HELP!!

After googlin' for a hour or so, i came across this forum.. I read the posts about the backing up of games and using the slide card trick with GS2 but came across a very bad situation!! I made my own slide card from a old ID card i had, slide the white pin in the ps2 cd tray to the side where i can pull it out, the problem i'm having is that when i goto slide the pin back into position to make the cd tray slide back in it takes the cd tray in about 2 inches and then stops. I tried to force it back in by hand it still only goes in the 2 inches. i tryed to use my slide card to push the white pin back over, and it sucked my slide card into the ps2 so its MIA.. I need to get my tray to close again, am i stuck like chuck and S.O.L? or is there something i'm doing wrong?
