Everyone must know by now that the new Sony movies will not work with AnyDVD and Shrink. You must use the ripper but then you can do "movie only" to do the full disc you must use CloneDVD2. They don't seem to want to fix the problem either as they have indicated in the Slysoft forum. Are they delibertly trying to force us to buy CloneDVD2? I did not buy AnyDVD to be held hostage into buying CloneDVD2. You get it now Slysoft!

Have you tried AnyDVD with ImageBurn? That works fine, and I am not sure Slysoft has to make their program work with DVD Shrink at all? If I were them I wouldn't see where it is in there best interest into making there proggie work with DVD Shrink or any other program for that matter. I don't believe they are doing this on purpose, but it is probably a business decision which could be a lucrative one for them or it might not be if enough people feel as strongly about this as you do? I have CloneDVD2 and used to use it a lot, but now days I have had my best results with Intervideo's DVD Copy which produces much better copy's IMO and it still works well with AnyDVD. Thing is AnyDVD still works fine with other proggies out there and maybe Shrink should update (oh yeah that?s right DVDShrink hasn?t updated in years) ;-) I guess what I am saying is if you want to continue using free proggies, which I don't have anything against then you can't expect the other companies to conform to those programs it just doesn?t make any sense from a business stand point. Another note DVD Shrink is a great proggie, but is it the best encoder? I don't believe so if you want the best quality then you will more than likely have to pay for it in the way of Rebuilder, or DVDCopy. Even CloneDVD2 is a better encoder than Shrink and all of these probably produce better quality movies because they have the funds to update often and improve. Well I already said more here than I planned to so I will quit for now.
Cheers

AnyDVD did not work with Casino Royale. I have had the same thoughts
as Taylor30. In my humble opinion AnyDVD was to have been the
unencryptor and Clone was to have been the burning software. I have
been a supporter of the AnyDVD all the way-thought it was the best
program out there. However when they move some of the unencryption
process into the burning software it gives me second thoughts. Sure
it is financial to their benefit, but what did they sell us if it
won't unencrypt some of the movies we purchased so we can make a
backup?
I have been using RipIt4Me on the movies AnyDVD won't do. I think
it is rather unusual to be using a free program to do what a program
you paid good money for doesn't.
Just my 2 cents worth.
Sorry to disagree with you BBMayo I really appreciate all the help
you have given me in the past and really respect your opinions--I just
happen to differ on this one.

Hey thats what makes this great world of ours go around.. not everyone is oging to see everything the same way, would be a boring place if we did. lol

i myself have both programs AnyDVD adn clonedvd2. i think they are the best there is and is well worth the money i spent for them if you/I have to have one to make the other work and not have any problems thats just great. i do 90% of my backups with these 2 programs. its way to simple to use these together and not worry about is this gonna work with this or that, ect...

dont get me wrong ripit4me is a awsome tool also when i do want to just rip something to my HDD thats the only program i use.

as BBmayo stated from slysoft point of view its a money maker for them, and after all aint that what makes this great world of ours go around, other than us agreeing about disagreeing...lol

@BBmayo just checked out your new and improved site. been awhile since i visited. very nice shop you got there very helpfull... you should get a guestbook and let us leave ya kudoos there...lol

I think Slysoft is the new Microsoft. It amazes me that people don't like Microsoft for trying to force people to use only their products then Slysoft does the same thing and it's just good business.

AnyDVD is having problems with some of the new Sony encryptions but what do you expect Perfect all the time? They will catch up but we are burning newer movies faster than they can fix them . If AnyDVD don't work just use Ripit4me and FixVTS or wait for the new patch from AnyDVD

AnyDVD did work with Casino Royale(movie only), and it worked great with Nero Recode in the endeavour.

VobBlanker & FixVts will most of the time let Shrink do it's job, after you've ripped to your hard drive.

We never stop learning.

I have never had a problem with any movie using AnyDVD, many times I've read on here about movies people can't copy and haven't had any problems with them. I haven't tried Casino Royal yet but AnyDVD just came out with and update.

Using AnyDVD - DVDshrink and DVDdecyptor.

Just wondering if it could be a burner issue? I'm also using LiteOn Burners. Again, just wondering???

If you want to go the free route try imgburn. Great software. I myself use AnyDVD and clonedvd2. Some times I use AnyDVD and shrink with no problems. You can also try ripit4me which incorporates shrink and fixvts. This prog is constantly updated and is very easy to use. Did I mention that it's also free?

bbmayo: Btw great website you've got there. An instant essential.

Naw...They're not forcing us to do anything, I think some of us take things for granted. SlySoft AnyDVD is in the forefront of DVD decrypting technology taking chances and blazing new trails with regards to the R&D (Research & Development) needed to keep programs like AnyDVD & CloneDVD2 available. Torrent sites & file sharing keeps a great deal of people spoiled to the notion of "Why should I pay"? I like many here started with primarily "freeware". Which we all know does not always work. Working and searching the net for patches needed for retail decryption software that has not been purchased has it's dead ends. And because of this and out of sheer appreciation for what SlySoft does for everyone who wishes to simply make back-up's of their purchased DVD ttles, I chose to purchase AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 some time ago.

Look at the big picture our usage of SlySoft products sends a message to corporations like MPIAA, Letting them know just how many people have a genuine interest in (Not Pirating) but again, the right to create back up files or disc of purchased DVD movie media. The impact is so strong that Microsoft Vista is catching hell as the combine public interest in both music media and movie media and the ability to create back-ups has grown to an all time high globally. A high that the good people who created DRM did not consider. Who thought that the good folks at Blu-ray would anticipate the publics ability to back-up Blu-ray media? Siting this as a chance to boost Blu-ray DVD sales? i.e. People will not buy what they cannot duplicate or reserve to file. Combining old outdated decrypting software and newer software like AnyDVD can be a crap shoot at times. And totally relying on AnyDVD or any other purchased decryption software has had it's down falls too. So I keep a little bit of both around because I understand this and combining the softwares does have it's benefits.

It's anyones choice whether one chooses "FREE" or "RETAIL" software but don't complain if one is not taking the steps to ensure that ones back-ups are done $ucce$$fully. Look what happened to DVD Decrypter, Macrovison came along and purchased it and it is my belief that any and all decrypting software is game for purchase or corporate destruction. With continued support from everyday people like the members found here one day we will arrive at a unspoken need or concern for the likes of people who the "Movie Industry" will see as DVD movie enthusiast seeking to safeguard their private DVD collections. As seen in the era of audio cassete and VHS. Hey spend a little cash or find another means of getiing it done? It's your choice.:P
