What motherboard do you have? Better question, is it the TA-082?

Damn.. if it wasn't the TA-082 it would be a lot easiar, since you could just use the easy installer. Umm don't upgrade your PSP. Unless you have a PS3 and money to pay which is stupid.
OK, you have to downgrade your PSP with the link i sent you in the post below, if you want to play PS1 games. MAKE sure you read the README, and when you downgrade hook your PSP up to the AC Adapter!! With at least 75% Battery life!

Oh.. Great!
Ok now just use this. http://www.sendspace.com/file/3frcmh
This will install all of the proper files in the correct folders so you can update to the awesome 3.03 OE-C custom firmware.
And it comes with Sony's emulator. Make sure when you update it to make sure its completly done, and ill help you from there.
The custom firmware allows you to do the following.
Customize your PSP XMB (You can do it on other custom fw's and 1.5 also)
Keeps all the features of Firmware 1.50, but includes 3.03 stuff also.
Ability to play all your PSP downloaded games and PS1 games all through your PSP menu.
Many other awesome features.

All you have to do is just open the installer, hook your PSP up and let it copy the files over and your already to go!

No problem, let me know how it turns out for you. ALL devhook is, is it allows you to emulate Firmware so you don't have to update your system, so you can play newer games. But trust me, if your just planning to play PS1 games, you do not need it at all.

Awesome! Good job. It's an awesome firmware.
OK to play PS1 games, put your PS1 ISO files into your PSP/GAME folder. Thats it, then just launch them from your PSP menu.
Have fun!

Put that in the ISO folder which is automatically made when you install the custom firmware. Make sure there is a UMD in the drive when playing PSX/PSP ISO games also. Or else it will say game could not be started. I heard that some people got it working without a UMD game, but i don't know how.
