Is it time for a new dvd rom and burner? I was burning casino royale with dvd ripper when the time for shrink to kick in, the process stopped. I tried everything to get working like just doing shrink but realize that neither the litetron dvd rom and the benq1640 burner wasn't reading it. I tried several other movies but no advail in reading so I turned off the cpu. it said it was working properly. I had these for the last 18months and no problems. Today I decided to try again and the dvd rom worked waiting now for the burner to kicked in. so do I buy a new dvd rom and burner

I don't have a benq but I know the one you have is a top-notch drive. Don't get rid of it. Even on my beloved Liteons, when Saw 3 first came out (also a Sony movie) my drive had a difficult time reading it. It just spun and spun for minutes. Finally, after a while, it actually did get read properly. But if you were here when that movie came out, you would have seen the madness it caused (which has all been rectified).

I had similar problems with this movie as well. I used DVD Fab and it took several minutes for it to read the disc in my drive. It finally read it and seems to have backed it up okay. Not sure what was causing the delay/problem with reading the disc.

For the record, my liteons didn't have a problem reading this disc--nor did I run into any problems backing it up.

I've actually bought a new DVD Burner because Casino Royale was not recognized. Now when I use AnyDVD and try to back it up on DVD Shrink it still gets me nowhere. All I am seeing is the Video TS Folders and the Audio TS Folders. I am not an expert at this - does anyone have any thoughts???

I have two computers. One has a nec3550a burner on it and the other just has a dvd rom. Neither one of my computers will read this disc. I too thought maybe my burner had quit but I tried a couple of other movies and had no problems with them. I guess I will just pass on this movie...

I have found a way to do it - but you can only copy the main movie - nothing else. no smart introduction screen sequences - just the film. you need to download the dvdfabhddecrypter and run the film through the 'main movie' decrypter.

Let me tell you, this one was not easy. It will take a long time on any drive to read this dvd. It took my first drive over an hour to finally see that there was a dvd in the drive. It kept on trying to read it the whole hour though. I ripped it using DVDFab. It was a bad rip though as DVDFab screwed it up. I tried it again later. I could not get it to read on 2 other drives (I just did not have the patience to wait). Finally, I stuck it back into my laptop. It took hours upon hours before my laptops drive noticed there was a DVD in there. Nothing could succesfully access the video when it showed up in the drive except for 'Rip it 4 me'. I had to download the new rip it 4 me release, as the prior one did not work. It ripped it with DVD Decrypter just fine. I was able to compress it with dvdclone2 (I prefer it for compression). The titles are all fine and it burns fine. DVDFab might make you think you ripped it OK, but you will find out it did not when you try to burn it.
Have patience with your drive on this, and let's hope ARccos does not do this again. Their kung-fu is stronger now, but not strong enough!
