I've never heard of a virus bieng caught from playing a psp iso before.

There can be viruses in eboots though, I suppose if somebody wanted to they could create an eboot that says it does something cool but when you run it all you get is something that flashes your psp with garbage and bricks it.
Just get all your eboots from reliable websites.
